Gigabyte Gaming A16 16" 165 Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i5-13420H - RTX 5060 8 GB - 16 GB DDR5 - 512 GB SSD - FreeDOS

The Gigabyte Gaming A16 (ref. CVHH3FR893SD) is the most affordable 16-inch gaming laptop in our selection featuring a GeForce RTX 50 series graphics card. It combines an Intel Core i5-13420H with an 8 GB GDDR7 GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop (Blackwell architecture, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation) behind a 16" WUXGA 1920 × 1200 IPS 165 Hz panel. It comes without Windows (FreeDOS): a smart choice if you already own a license, prefer Linux, or simply want to pay for the hardware and nothing else.

What it's really for

On its native 1920 × 1200 screen, the RTX 5060 Laptop is comfortable in competitive games (Valorant, CS2, Fortnite, Rocket League) where 165 Hz makes full sense, and it handles major solo titles at high settings by leveraging DLSS 4 to smooth out fluidity. Its 8 GB of video memory suggests sticking to 1200p and moderating "ultra" textures on the most demanding games: that's the limit to keep in mind. The MUX switch allows the screen to be connected directly to the Nvidia card for increased responsiveness. For content creation (Full HD video editing, photo retouching, light modeling), the i5's 8 cores and the NVENC encoder handle daily tasks.

Upgradable and easy to live with

Two SO-DIMM sticks and two M.2 slots: upgrading to 32 GB of RAM or adding a second SSD takes just a few minutes, without changing machines. The original 512 GB accommodates the system and a few games; plan for a second SSD if your library is extensive. The chassis remains thin (less than 23 mm) for a 16-inch laptop with a dedicated RTX, and the USB-C supports Power Delivery charging for on-the-go convenience.
