Between the €750 config that handles 1080p medium settings and the €1000+ config that targets 1440p, there was a gap in our lineup. We've filled it with what has become our most exciting value-for-money config: the i5-13400F + Intel Arc B570 duo for around €900.

This is the PC we most recommend right now to gamers who want super-smooth 1080p without breaking the bank. We'll explain why.

Why this config is special

The secret to this config can be summed up in two words: Intel Arc B570.

At €249-270, the B570 offers 10 GB of GDDR6 — 2 GB more than the RTX 3050 (8 GB) and the RTX 5060 (8 GB). It's about twice as fast as the RTX 3050 in synthetic benchmarks, and 30-40% faster in real-world gaming. All for just €50-70 more than the RTX 3050.

Paired with the i5-13400F, a 10-core CPU (6P+4E) priced at €150-170 that won't bottleneck any card in this range, you get a PC that plays 1080p ultra at over 100 FPS on most titles. And it even starts to dabble in 1440p on well-optimized games.

AMD Variant: Ryzen 5 5500 + Arc B570

We also offer this config in an AMD version with the Ryzen 5 5500 instead of the 13400F. The price is similar. The gaming difference is minimal with the B570 — both CPUs are more than sufficient for this GPU.

The advantage of the 13400F: 10 cores vs 6, better for multitasking (gaming + Discord + browser + Spotify without slowdown). The advantage of the 5500: potentially lower price and upgrade path to 5600X/5700X possible on AM4.

In-game performance

This is where it gets interesting. The B570 completely changes the game compared to the RTX 3050. We go from an "entry-level GPU that gets by" to a "mid-range GPU that impresses".

What to remember

For competitive 1080p, it's buttery smooth. Fortnite at 125 FPS on high settings, Valorant at 280 FPS, CS2 at 140 FPS. With a 144 Hz monitor, you'll fully exploit the machine. With a 240 Hz, you're still comfortable on Valorant and League of Legends.

For AAA 1080p, the B570 holds its own on high settings. 55-65 FPS on Cyberpunk and Hogwarts Legacy with high settings provides a fluid and enjoyable experience. Activate XeSS in quality mode and you gain another 20-30% FPS without noticeable visual loss.

1440p is accessible. While not the primary target resolution for this config, with XeSS enabled and medium to high settings, well-optimized games run acceptably. This is a bonus, not a promise.

The performance leap vs the €750 config

For about €150 more than our RTX 3050 config, here's what you concretely gain.

The gain is massive: 30 to 56% more FPS depending on the game, 2 GB of additional VRAM for longevity, and a CPU with 4 more cores for multitasking. For a €150 surcharge, this is probably the most cost-effective upgrade in our entire range.

Why the Arc B570 and not an RTX 3060 or RX 7600?

We get asked this question. Here's our reasoning.

vs RTX 3060 (~€270-300): The RTX 3060 has 12 GB of VRAM, which is an advantage. But it's nearing end-of-life (Ampere generation), more expensive than the B570, and its gaming performance is on par. The B570 has a more recent architecture and a better performance/price ratio.

vs RX 7600 (~€250-280): The RX 7600 has 8 GB of VRAM and performance close to the B570. But 8 GB in 2026 is starting to be tight, whereas the B570 offers 10 GB. And the B570 is often cheaper.

vs RTX 5060 (~€330-375): The RTX 5060 has DLSS 4 (a real advantage) but only 8 GB of VRAM and an unstable price. For €80-100 less, the B570 with its 10 GB and XeSS 2 is the rational choice at this budget.

The B570 occupies a unique niche: more VRAM than all its competitors at the same price, solid performance, and stable pricing. That's why we've adopted it.

The 10 GB VRAM: the discreet but crucial advantage

We discuss it in detail in our dedicated VRAM article, but here's the summary for this config.

In 2026, games are consuming more and more video memory. Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings uses approximately 7-8 GB of VRAM at 1080p. Black Myth Wukong and the upcoming GTA 6 are in the same ballpark.

With 8 GB (RTX 3050, RTX 5060), you're at the limit. Degraded textures or micro-stutters can appear when VRAM saturates.

With 10 GB (Arc B570), you have 2 GB of headroom. It doesn't seem like much, but it's the difference between "just enough" and "comfortably running". And it extends the useful lifespan of your config by 1-2 years.

XeSS: Intel's game-changing upscaling

The B570 doesn't have NVIDIA's DLSS. It has Intel's XeSS 2 — and it has become very good.

XeSS works on a growing number of games: Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Forza Horizon 5, Death Stranding, and many Unreal Engine 5 titles. In quality mode, it offers 20-40% more FPS with image quality very close to native rendering.

For games that don't support XeSS, FSR (AMD FidelityFX) is often available and works on all GPUs, including Intel Arc. The quality is a step below XeSS, but the FPS gain is there.

In short: you won't be "deprived" of upscaling with an Intel card. The ecosystem has caught up with NVIDIA on the essentials.

The upgrade path: where to go next

This config is designed to evolve. Here are the most logical upgrades when you want to move to the next level.

GPU → Arc B580 (~€299-365) — The natural upgrade. 12 GB of VRAM, 15-25% more performance. 1440p becomes comfortable. On the LGA 1700 platform with the 13400F, the B580 won't be bottlenecked.

GPU → RTX 3070 (~€300-350) — NVIDIA alternative with DLSS 2. Superior raw performance to the B580, but only 8 GB of VRAM.

RAM → 32 GB (~€100-120 additional) — Add 2x8 GB of identical RAM for multitasking comfort and demanding AAA titles.

CPU → i5-14400F (~€150-170) — If you're on LGA 1700, the 14400F is a drop-in replacement with ~100 MHz more boost. Marginal gain in gaming, but it's an option if you find a good price.

Who is this config for?

1080p gamers who want comfort. You no longer want to choose between "beautiful graphics" and "smooth FPS" — you want both. This config allows it in 1080p high on almost all games.

Those who would upgrade the RTX 3050. If €750 for the RTX 3050 seems too limited but €1000 for the B580 is too expensive, the B570 at €900 is the perfect sweet spot.

Gamers who think long term. The 10 GB of VRAM and the 10-core CPU provide headroom for the next 3-4 years without an upgrade.

Multitaskers. The 13400F with its 10 cores handles gaming + Discord + browser + Spotify without breaking a sweat. No need to close your apps to play.

Frequently asked questions

Is the B570 reliable? Are Intel drivers stable? In 2026, yes. Intel has significantly improved its Battlemage drivers. DirectX 12 and Vulkan games run without issue. Only a few old DX9/DX11 games might cause marginal problems.

Why the 13400F rather than the Ryzen 5 5600X? Both are excellent at this budget. The 13400F has 10 cores (vs 6 for the 5600X), which benefits multitasking. The 5600X has better pure gaming IPC but fewer cores. It's a close match — we offer both depending on availability.

Can this config stream? Yes, at decent quality. The 13400F with its 10 cores handles OBS + game better than the 5500 or 10500. For professional streaming (1080p60), a config with a Ryzen 7 5700X would be more comfortable.
