PC gamer à environ 1000€ en 2026 : Ryzen 5 5500 + RTX 3070, le 1440p accessible chez DSGate

Gaming PC for around €1000 in 2026: Ryzen 5 5500 + RTX 3070, 1440p made accessible at DSGate

The RTX 3070 is back. A high-end card when it was released in 2020, it is returning to the market in 2026 at prices that place it against current mid-range cards—between €299 and €350. And paired with a Ryzen 5 5500 on an affordable AM4 platform, it allows you to build a 1440p gaming PC for around €999.

At DSGate, this is our Nox config. We're going to show you what it's got under the hood.

Why this build is a bargain

The math is simple. The RTX 3070 offers superior raw performance to the Arc B580 and is close to the RTX 5060 Ti in many games—for €300-350 instead of €390-440. This is a GPU that was selling for €500+ two years ago.

Paired with a Ryzen 5 5500 at ~€99-110, a mature and affordable AM4 platform, and 16 GB of DDR4, we get a complete PC for €999 that plays at 1440p high settings on most titles. It's the best raw power-to-price ratio in our range.

The compromise? The RTX 3070 only has 8 GB of VRAM and no DLSS 4. We'll discuss this in detail below.

What's in the DSGate Nox config

Component Reference Why this choice
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5500 (6C/12T, 4.2 GHz boost) Smart budget choice—doesn't bottleneck the 3070 at 1440p
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB GDDR6X) High-end power at a mid-range price
RAM 16 GB DDR4 (2x8 GB) Dual channel, sufficient for gaming
Storage 512 GB NVMe SSD + 500 GB HDD included NVMe for games, HDD for everything else
System Windows 11 Pro activated Ready to play
Connectivity Integrated WiFi Included
Case ATX Mid-Tower, mesh front Airflow adapted to the 3070's TDP (220W)
Power Supply 600W certified Essential for the 3070

The choice of Ryzen 5 5500: why not a 5600X?

At 1440p, the GPU does most of the work—not the CPU. The difference between a Ryzen 5 5500 and a 5600X shrinks to 3-8% at 1440p, compared to 15-37% at 1080p. At this resolution, the extra cost of €40-60 for the 5600X has less visible impact.

So we chose to put the budget into the GPU (the 3070) rather than the CPU. This is a strategic choice that maximizes FPS at the lowest price.

For players who also aim for very high FPS competitive 1080p or do intensive multitasking, we offer the same config with a Ryzen 5 5600X for about €1050-1100. This is our M9 / NYXII config with Arc B580 at this budget—an alternative choice we detail in a dedicated article.

In-game performance

The RTX 3070 is a powerful GPU. With its 5888 CUDA cores and 256-bit bus, it pushes FPS that €200-300 cards cannot achieve.

Competitive games—1080p high settings

Game Estimated FPS
Fortnite ~175 FPS
Valorant ~350+ FPS
CS2 ~200 FPS
Apex Legends ~155 FPS
League of Legends ~400+ FPS

At 1080p, this config is overpowered for competitive games. If you have a 240 Hz monitor, you'll fully exploit it on Valorant and League of Legends. For Fortnite and CS2, a 144 Hz is more than sufficient.

AAA games—1080p high settings

Game Estimated FPS
Cyberpunk 2077 ~85 FPS
Black Myth Wukong ~75 FPS
Hogwarts Legacy ~90 FPS
Forza Horizon 5 ~110 FPS

At 1080p, the RTX 3070 devours everything at high settings. 85 FPS on Cyberpunk, 90 on Hogwarts Legacy—it's smooth, comfortable, and uncompromising.

AAA games—1440p (QHD) high settings

Game Estimated FPS
Cyberpunk 2077 ~60 FPS
Black Myth Wukong ~55 FPS
Hogwarts Legacy ~65 FPS
Forza Horizon 5 ~80 FPS

This is where this config shows its true value. At 1440p high settings, the RTX 3070 maintains 55-65 FPS on the most demanding AAA titles. This is the threshold for comfortable fluidity. Enable DLSS 2 in quality mode on compatible games, and you gain another 20-30% FPS.

AAA games—1440p medium settings

Game Estimated FPS
Cyberpunk 2077 ~75 FPS
Black Myth Wukong ~70 FPS
Hogwarts Legacy ~80 FPS

At medium settings, the margin is even more comfortable. 70-80 FPS at 1440p is undoubtedly smooth.

Indicative values—estimated average FPS. DLSS 2 can add 20-30% FPS to compatible NVIDIA games.

RTX 3070 vs. Arc B580: the €1000 showdown

At DSGate, we offer two configs for around €1000: the Nox (Ryzen 5 5500 + RTX 3070) and the M7/M9/NYXII (Ryzen 5 5500 or 5600X + Arc B580). Which one to choose?

Nox (RTX 3070) M7/M9 (Arc B580)
Price ~€999 ~€999-1090
GPU RTX 3070 (8 GB GDDR6X) Arc B580 (12 GB GDDR6)
CPU Ryzen 5 5500 Ryzen 5 5500 / 5600X
VRAM 8 GB 12 GB
Upscaling DLSS 2 XeSS 2
Memory bus 256-bit 192-bit
GPU TDP 220W 190W
1080p high FPS (Cyberpunk) ~85 ~75
1440p high FPS (Cyberpunk) ~60 ~50

Choose the RTX 3070 if:

  • You want the highest raw FPS possible
  • You play at 1440p and every FPS counts
  • You use DLSS-compatible games (most NVIDIA AAA titles)
  • You prefer the NVIDIA ecosystem (GeForce Experience, NVENC for streaming)

Choose the Arc B580 if:

  • VRAM is your priority (12 GB vs 8 GB—better longevity)
  • You plan to keep this PC for 4+ years without a GPU upgrade
  • You play future titles that might exceed 8 GB of VRAM (GTA 6, etc.)
  • You want a GPU that consumes less power (190W vs 220W)

Both are excellent choices. The RTX 3070 wins in raw power. The Arc B580 wins in longevity thanks to its extra 4 GB of VRAM. It's a matter of priority.

The elephant in the room: 8 GB of VRAM in 2026

Let's be transparent. 8 GB of VRAM is the weak point of the RTX 3070 in 2026.

Today, it's enough for 90% of games at 1080p and 1440p high settings. But some recent titles are starting to use more than 8 GB at 1440p ultra: Cyberpunk 2077 with max textures, Black Myth Wukong on ultra, and the upcoming GTA 6 could be very demanding.

When VRAM saturates, the game doesn't crash—it degrades textures or creates micro-stutters. It's rarely dramatic, but it's noticeable.

Our position: at €999 with RTX 3070 performance, 8 GB remains an acceptable compromise. If VRAM longevity is your absolute priority, the B580 config (12 GB) at a similar price is the more prudent choice. Both options are available at DSGate.

The RTX 3070 in 2026: where does it come from?

We are often asked how we can offer a new RTX 3070 at this price in 2026, when it's a 2020 card.

The RTX 3070 has made a comeback to the market thanks to stocks that have become available again at attractive prices, between €280 and €350. This is a boon for system builders like us who are looking for the best performance-to-price ratio for their customers.

Every card we use is new and tested in our workshop before assembly. We don't sell used or mining components without disclosing it. It's new, guaranteed, with DSGate support.

DLSS 2: still excellent in 2026

The RTX 3070 doesn't have DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation (reserved for RTX 50). But it has DLSS 2, which remains a remarkable technology.

DLSS 2 reconstructs the image using AI to gain FPS. In quality mode, the gain is 20-30% with an almost imperceptible visual loss. In performance mode, the gain can reach 50-60% but with reduced image quality.

The vast majority of recent AAA games support DLSS: Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Black Myth Wukong, and dozens of others. This is a tangible advantage of the RTX 3070 over the Arc B580 and its XeSS, even if XeSS has improved a lot.

What's included in the price

Like all our DSGate configs, the Nox at €999 includes everything you need to play right out of the box.

Professional assembly with neat cable management. Activated Windows 11 Pro. XMP activated for RAM. GPU/CPU stress tests and temperature checks. NVMe SSD for fast loading times. Free 500 GB HDD for additional storage. Integrated WiFi. Up-to-date drivers. DSGate technical support.

The power supply is sized at 600W for the RTX 3070 (220W TDP) with plenty of headroom—no risk of power cuts under load.

The upgrade path

This config has a clear upgrade path.

CPU → Ryzen 5 5600X or 5700X (~€50-90 net extra cost) The most cost-effective upgrade. The 5600X brings 15-37% gain in 1080p gaming thanks to its doubled L3 cache. The 5700X adds 2 cores for multitasking. Both are drop-in upgrades on AM4, no need to change the motherboard.

RAM → 32 GB (~€100-120) Add 2x8 GB identical modules. Reduces micro-stutters in AAA games and improves multitasking. Especially relevant if you play at 1440p with many apps open.

GPU → RTX 5060 Ti or RTX 5070 (when budget allows) The leap to the current generation. The Ryzen 5 5500 (or a 5600X/5700X if you've upgraded) will not bottleneck these cards at 1440p. This is the ultimate upgrade that transforms this PC into a high-end machine.

Storage → 1 TB NVMe SSD (~€90-130) If 512 GB + 500 GB HDD is no longer enough, a second 1 TB NVMe SSD solves the problem in 2 minutes.

Who is this config for?

1440p gamers on a controlled budget. This is the entry price to comfortably play QHD on recent AAA titles. No other config at this price offers as many FPS at 1440p.

Convinced NVIDIA gamers. DLSS, GeForce Experience, NVENC, ShadowPlay—the NVIDIA ecosystem is mature and complete. If you insist on it, the 3070 is the most powerful NVIDIA GPU under €400.

Bargain hunters. A GPU that rivaled an RTX 5060 Ti just a year ago, for €300-350? It's simply a bargain.

Those who will upgrade the CPU later. Starting with a 5500 and upgrading to a 5600X or 5700X in 6-12 months is the smart strategy to spread out the budget.

It is NOT for you if...

VRAM is your priority. 8 GB in 2026 is sufficient but not comfortable for the long term. If you keep this PC for 4-5 years without changing the GPU, the Arc B580 config (12 GB) is more prudent.

You want advanced Ray Tracing. The RTX 3070 handles RT, but its 2nd generation RT cores are behind the RTX 50 (4th gen). For intensive RT, aim for at least an RTX 5060 Ti.

You want the latest technology. No DLSS 4, no GDDR7, no PCIe 5.0. It's a 2020 GPU with 2024 performance—but it's not the latest generation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the RTX 3070 still a good GPU in 2026? Yes, absolutely. It sits between the Arc B580 and the RTX 5060 Ti in raw performance. For €300-350, it's the best power-to-price ratio on the market, provided you accept the 8 GB of VRAM.

Does the Ryzen 5 5500 bottleneck the RTX 3070? At 1440p, no—the GPU is the limiting factor. In competitive 1080p, slightly yes (5-10% less FPS vs a 5600X). If this bothers you, upgrading to the 5600X is easy and inexpensive on AM4.

€999 for a PC with an RTX 3070, is it reliable? At DSGate, yes. The card is new and tested. We don't cut corners on the power supply (600W) or assembly. Beware of offers at €700-800 with a 3070—check that the card isn't used or from mining.

What monitor for this config? A 1440p 144 Hz is the perfect match. This is the resolution and refresh rate that this config best exploits. Monitor budget: €200-300 for a good 27-inch IPS model.

RTX 3070 or wait for the next gen? If you need a PC now, don't wait. The RTX 3070 at this price is an opportunity. The next mid-range generation (RTX 6060?) won't arrive until late 2026 at best, and will likely be more expensive at launch.
