What About Graphics Cards?

The GPU segment was already experiencing tensions. However, after several months of marked fluctuations, prices are starting to stabilize for some models. Mid-range models remain the most relevant for the majority of gamers, while high-end models are still subject to high prices.

In other words, the "graphics card" item is calming down a bit while RAM and storage are taking over the price increase. For a given budget, the ideal balance between components therefore evolves from one season to the next.

What to Do in This Context?

Rather than waiting for a hypothetical drop, it's better to think in terms of usage and real budget:

  • Size it right: 16 GB of RAM is sufficient for most current games; no need to overinvest when prices are high.
  • Choose the right SSD tier: a Gen4 NVMe offers excellent performance-to-price ratio compared to more expensive Gen5 models.
  • Compare pre-built configurations and custom builds: when components are scarce and expensive, a tested and guaranteed configuration can prove to be safer.
