Difference 1: Raw Power

In terms of power, the gap between the 5060 and the 5060 Ti is quite clear. According to benchmark aggregations published by specialized sites, the 5060 Ti offers between 14% and 25% more performance depending on the games and resolutions. The difference is more pronounced at 1440p than at 1080p, as at 1080p many games become CPU-limited, and the additional power of the 5060 Ti is not fully utilized.

Specifically, this means:

  • At 1080p Ultra, the framerate difference is moderate on most recent titles.
  • At 1440p High / Ultra, the gap widens, especially for games that are demanding on shader bandwidth.
  • At 4K, both cards remain at their limit and require DLSS for a smooth experience.

Case 2: Modding / Multitasking

If you install high-resolution texture packs on moddable games (Skyrim, Fallout 4, Cyberpunk with HD packs), 8 GB quickly becomes tight. The same applies if you leave browser tabs or GPU-accelerated applications running in parallel.

The 16 GB version of the 5060 Ti eliminates these two risks for approximately €50 more than the 8 GB version. This ensures the card's longevity for 4 to 5 years.

The RTX 5060 (145 W) is more power-efficient than the 5060 Ti (180 W). This translates to:

Both cards incorporate the same software technologies: DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation, and Reflex 2. On this aspect, no difference is expected—it's the same Blackwell architecture. DLSS 4 allows both cards to aim for 1440p Ultra with ray tracing in decent fluidity conditions, which would have been unthinkable on an entry-level card two generations ago.

Which one to choose for which use?

Choose the RTX 5060 if...

  • You mainly play at 1080p, on a 144 Hz or 240 Hz monitor.
  • Your GPU budget is capped at €330–€350.
  • You are building a compact setup or have a modest power supply.
  • Your main games are competitive multiplayer (Valorant, CS2, Apex, LoL) — the 5060 is already well above the useful threshold for these titles.

Choose the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB if...

  • You want the Ti power but your budget is tight.
  • You play at 1080p or 1440p but don't push Ultra textures on very demanding titles.

Choose the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB if...

  • You are aiming for long-term 1440p Ultra, with ray tracing enabled on AAA titles.
  • You plan to keep your card for 4 to 5 years without replacing it.
  • You mod your games or also use the GPU for creation (video editing, local generative AI).

For those who want to comfortably transition to 1440p and keep their card for several years, the 5060 Ti 16 GB is the preferred investment—the extra €50 compared to the 8 GB version is one of the most cost-effective GPU expenditures of this generation. The 5060 Ti 8 GB remains a valid compromise, but we tend to recommend either the 5060 (if staying at 1080p) or directly the 5060 Ti 16 GB (if aiming higher), without stopping in the middle.
